Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 1, 2026
Habla does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Ever.

What Habla Does

Habla is a Chrome extension for learning real-world Spanish through flashcards, phrase lists, and a personal vocabulary notebook. Everything runs locally on your device.

Data We Collect

None. Habla does not transmit any data to external servers, third parties, or analytics platforms. There is no backend, no account system, and no tracking of any kind.

Local Storage

Words and sentences you add to your personal dictionary are saved using your browser's localStorage. This data exists only on your device and is never sent anywhere. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser data.

Permissions

storage — to save your personal word list locally on your device.

activeTab — reserved for a future feature that may allow word lookup on pages you visit. It is not used to read your browsing activity.

scripting — used alongside activeTab for the same potential future feature. No scripts are injected without user action.

None of these permissions are used to collect, monitor, or transmit any information about you or your browsing.

Third-Party Services

Habla does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, advertising networks, or external APIs. No data leaves your browser.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
